On November 6, 2021 at 8:08 PM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a traffic complaint on State Route 13 in the Village of Lansing. It was reported that a pedestrian was unsafely pushing a shopping cart and bicycle down the highway.
Deputies located the subject pushing the cart and identified him as Lawrence E. Williams, age 38 of Ithaca, NY. Deputies noted that the cart William's was pushing was full of grocery items. Through further investigation deputies determined that all of the grocery items in the cart had been stolen from the Tops Market on North Triphammer Road.
Williams was arrested and charged with Petit Larceny (Misdemeanor). Williams was issued an appearance ticket in compliance with New York State Bail Reform Laws. Williams is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lansing Court on December 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM.
