On March 27, 2021, at about 02:55 AM, a Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputy was on patrol in the Town of Ulysses on Taughannock Park Road when he observed a vehicle parked along the roadway with the operator appearing to be slumped over. When the deputy attempted to make contact, he noted that the vehicle was still in gear and the operator, who appeared to be sleeping, had his foot on the brake pedal.
While attempting to wake and interview the operator, 34-year-old Brandan Debuono of Ithaca, the deputy noted signs of impairment, conducted a DWI investigation, and subsequently arrested Debuono for driving while intoxicated.
Debuono was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC over .08%, both unclassified misdemeanors and was released with citations to appear in the Town of Ulysses Court at a later date.
