On June 20th 2021 at 2:13 PM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies responded to McDonald's, located at 2350 N. Triphammer Rd in the Village of Lansing for a two car motor vehicle crash.
Once on scene, Deputies interviewed both drivers and observed impairment from one of the drivers, identified as Beth Malpasso, age 41 of Ithaca NY. Deputies then conducted a DWI investigation that resulted in Malpasso's arrest.
Malpasso was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and multiple Vehicle and Traffic violations. Malpasso was released on an appearance ticket ordering her to return to the Town of Lansing Court on a later date.
