On September 15, 2020 at 8:36 PM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies were patrolling West Danby Road in the Town of Newfield. While on patrol, deputies observed a vehicle in front of them traveling all over the roadway and nearly going off the road several times. Deputies then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and when doing so, observed the vehicle rear end the vehicle in front of them.
Deputies interviewed the driver, Sandra L. Rogers, age 37 of Spencer, NY. During the course of their interview, Deputies observed signs of impairment and conducted a DWI Investigation that resulted in Rogers arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.
Rogers was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (Class E Felony), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree (Class E Felony), Moving from Lane Unsafely (Traffic Infraction), Following Too Close (Traffic Infraction) and Refusal to Submit to Roadside Pre Breath Screening Test (Traffic Infraction).
Rogers was released on traffic tickets ordering her to return to the Town of Newfield Court at a later date.
