On February 5, 2021 at 9:43 PM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies responded to Glenwood Heights Road in the Town of Ulysses for a suspicious vehicle complaint. The caller was reporting a running vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway with a driver who appeared to be under the influence and continuing to turn the headlights on and off.
Deputies arrived and spoke with the driver, Shane R. Riano, age 33 of Cassville, NY. During the course of their investigation, deputies found that Riano was in possession of Marihuana and MDMA (molly). Riano was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Class A Misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. Riano was released on an appearance ticket ordering him to appear at the Town of Ulysses Court at a later date
