On December 30, 2021 at 12:37 PM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies responded to Target located at 40 Catherwood Road in the Village of Lansing for a Theft Complaint.
Deputies interviewed Asset Protection upon arrival who alleged that a male, currently pumping gas at B.J.'s Wholesale had stolen three sets of Pokémon trading cards and left with out paying.
Deputies responded to B.J.'s, located and interviewed the male pointed out by Asset Protection, Jason M. Whaley, age 45 of Groton, NY. While interviewing Whaley, deputies observed the Pokémon trading cards inside of his vehicle which were eventually confiscated.
Whaley was arrested and charged with Petit Larceny (Class A Misdemeanor). Whaley was released on appearance ticket ordering him to return to the Town of Lansing Court at a later date.
