On December 11, 2021 Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the area of Dryden-Hartford Road and Keith Lane in the Town of Dryden after receiving a tip that a stolen vehicle was in the area. During the course of their investigation, Deputies observed a vehicle hidden behind a barn and determined it was a vehicle that was reported stolen out of Indiana.
Deputies then located Mason D. Thomas, age 22 of Dryden, NY in the residence near the barn. Through further investigation deputies arrested Thomas for possession of the stolen vehicle and unrelated warrants out of the Cortland County Sheriff's Office and Village of Dryden Police Department.
Thomas was arrested and arraigned on Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree (Class D Felony). Thomas was remanded to the Tompkins County Jail and is due to appear at a later date.
