Criminal Possession of a Weapon Arrest

On June 26, 2020, at 6:20 PM, Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 134 Graham Road in the Village of Lansing for a menacing complaint involving a knife. Upon arrival, deputies located a male matching the suspect description given by the dispatch center. Deputies located a knife on the male and detained the male while interviewing the victim. The victim reported to deputies that the suspect threatened her and brandished a knife inches away from her body. A small child was also in the vicinity when this incident occurred.

Deputies identified the suspect as Gregory JACKSON SR, age 48 of Ithaca, NY. During the arrest of JACKSON, JACKSON spit on one of the deputies. JACKSON was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree (Class D Felony), Menacing in the 2nd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class A Misdemeanor) and Harassment in the 2nd Degree (Violation).

JACKSON was remanded to the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
