On August 30, 2021 at 3:22 PM, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 1900 block of Trumansburg Rd in the Town of Ulysses for a report of a male trespassing on private property and possibly stealing from the property. Tompkins Dispatch informed the responding Sheriff's units that the male suspect had left the area in a blue Dodge Dakota.
A short time later, deputies located the suspect and suspect vehicle in the City of Ithaca. The suspect was identified as Thomas Maloney age 54 of Newfield NY. Deputies also located stolen property inside of Maloney's vehicle.
Maloney was charged with Petit Larceny (Misdemeanor) and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree (Misdemeanor). Maloney was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear at the Town of Ulysses Court on a later date.
