Agriculinary Tourism Conference 2019

The Tompkins County Tourism Program, in collaboration with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County and the Ithaca/Tompkins Convention & Visitors Bureau, is pleased to announce our 2019 Agriculinary Tourism Conference focused on helping farm and food venues build relationships and develop new initiatives to attract visitors and to grow revenue. 

The Agriculinary Tourism conference will take place on Tuesday, March 5 at the Hotel Ithaca (222 South Cayuga St., Ithaca, NY 14850). Speakers from around the state will discuss the following topics:

  • Marketing your business online and on social media
  • Sourcing and selling local products
  • Offering overnight accommodations
  • Hosting events
  • Digging deeper into farm to table, learning about seed to table

Registration for this conference includes lunch and access to all sessions. Registration prior to February 15 costs $45. Registration after February 15 costs $50.

The Tompkins County Tourism Program annually invests over $2.5 million in local hotel room occupancy tax dollars in community-based tourism to promote economic development and enhance quality of life. This program is guided by the Strategic Tourism Planning Board. Tourism grants have supported the activities of dozens of local organizations contributing to local tourism and community vitality. In 2017 tourism in Tompkins County supported 3,700 local jobs, generated $216 million in visitor spending and more than $16.2 million in local tax revenues.
